Today’s biomedical sciences generate huge amounts of diverse data sets. HPC will explore intelligent solutions to integrate biological data to extract meaningful information from large biomedical datasets. HPC scientists and engineers develop and upscale new best-in-class tools to connect the dots between experimental and patient health information to drive new discoveries. New algorithms, machine learning and artificial intelligence enable novel approaches to answer biological problems and facilitate clinical decision making. Therefore, HPC joins forces with academic and industry partners to transform innovation into eminent societal impact.
HPC embraces new technologies, which promise to reveal unprecedented insights into biological systems, during normal development, homeostasis and disease. We ‘deconstruct’ physiology on one hand – using single-cell and –omics approaches, high-resolution or deep-imaging. On the other hand, HPC employs microfluidic devices and organoids (‘organ on chip’) to reconstruct, experimentally modulate and accurately quantify biological systems close to in vivo conditions.
Together, HPC’s technology driven developments and inventions are geared towards improving personalized prevention, diagnostics and treatments.
